ADA Paratransit

In addition to ADA accessible Saluki Express fixed routes, JAX also provides accessible complementary paratransit transportation for Southern Illinois University. It is a shared ride, public transportation service for individuals who, because of the effects of their disabilities or limiting conditions, are not able to ride a regular fixed route bus. Student need to call the Office for Access and Accommodations (OAA) at (618) 453-5738 to establish eligibility for this service.

Paratransit Schedule:

Academic Semester

  • Monday - Friday: 6:30 am to 9:30 pm
  • Saturday: 10:30 am - 11:00 pm
  • Sunday: 12:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Campus Breaks

  • Monday - Friday: 10:30 am - 9:30 pm
  • Saturday: 12:30 pm - 9:30 pm
  • Sunday: 12:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Summer Routes

  • Seven days a week: 7:00 am - 7:30 pm

After being approved by OAA, students can schedule rides by contacting JAX at (618) 549-0304

Rides must be scheduled between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm Monday-Friday and 7 am and between 4 pm on Saturday. Please call as soon as possible to request paratransit transportation, as 24-hour advanced noticed is preferred.
